Get 50% Off Ancestry for the New Year

If you’ve even considered researching your ancestors online, you’ve heard of Ancestry. With more than than 30 billion records from across the globe, they’re the largest paid record subscription site available.

Make Instant Discoveries in Your Family Tree Now
Imagine adding your family tree to a simple website and getting hundreds of new family history discoveries instantly.

MyHeritage is offering 2 free weeks of access to their extensive collection of 20 billion historical records, as well as their matching technology that instantly connects you with new information about your ancestors. Sign up using the link below to find out what you can uncover about your family.

They’re also quite expensive – especially since they don’t offer sales and coupons very often. That’s why it’s always great news when they announce a discount as large as this one – which applies to the U.S. Discovery, World Explorer and All Access Plans.

Ancestry is only offering this discount on their 6-month subscriptions and the offer is only available for those who do not currently have a paid membership. New subscribers, and those with memberships that have ended, qualify. If you currently have a subscription you will, unfortunately, not be able to use it.

Here’s how to get 50% off right now.

The half-off discount can be applied to these memberships:

This sale ends Jan 10th, so if you’ve been hoping to gain access to Ancestry’s records, take advantage of it while you can.

U.S. Discovery – discounted to $59

This membership level includes access to all of Ancestry’s U.S. records, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Normal price is $119 for 6 months, paid at one time. The current sale price is $59.

World Explorer – discounted to $84

The World Explorer subscription includes access to all international records on Ancestry, as well as the U.S. records included in the Discovery membership. The normal price for this 6-month membership is $169 but it’s discounted to $84 during the promotion.

20 Billion Genealogy Records Are Free for 2 Weeks
Get two full weeks of free access to more than 20 billion genealogy records right now. You’ll also gain access to the MyHeritage discoveries tool that locates information about your ancestors automatically when you upload or create a tree. What will you discover about your family’s past?

All Access – discounted to $129

Ancestry’s All Access level includes all US and international records, as well as full access to Fold3’s military records and the vast holdings of Newspapers.com. Fold3 and Newspapers.com records can be found on their own respective sites, as well as (in limited form) on Ancestry itself.

This membership level also allows you to share your subscription with up to four family members at no additional cost. Invited members will receive full access to all records using their own account (new or current as long as they don’t have their own subscription), and will not have access to your tree unless you choose to share it with them separately. Price for this plan is typically $259 every 6 months, but it is currently $129. Ancestry membership levels compare

All levels of membership also include Ancestry’s free tools: such as their popular family tree, record hints, photo scanning and editing tools, audio recording and more. You’ll also get access to advanced DNA tools if you’ve taken a DNA test with the company.

It’s important to keep in mind that the New Year’s sale only discounts your membership for the first 6 months. It will renew automatically at full price once this period ends.

To stop the subscription from renewing you can visit your account and cancel at any time. You will continue to receive your benefits until the membership ends, but it will not auto renew.
