Many Ancestry Collections Free For Three Days

Ancestry.com is offering totally free access to millions of records in their “Favorite Collections of 2013” now through Dec 29th. The free collections include those spanning four centuries and three continents–including 22 collections from the US and 19 from Europe.

I was especially excited to see that they included some of their largest collections, such as the UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 which contains almost 24 million records, as well as some more obscure selections, such as the U.S., Civil War and Later Wars Index to Remarried Widow Pension Applications, 1860-1934 and U.S., African American Newspapers, 1829-1947.
