This deal from Ancestry.com has ended. You can find regular prices and start an Ancestry free trial here instead.
Ancestry.com is offering a sudden 50% off flash sale of its subscriptions for Veterans Day. This deal includes new subscriptions AND upgrades on current subscriptions! You will need to be logged in to Ancestry to see the upgrade offer. After clicking the link in this article use the sign in button in the upper right hand corner of your screen to log in. You should then be redirected back to the offer. If you are not, simply follow one of the links on this page again.
You can get the deal here until 9PM PT Nov 11th only. This kind of large discount almost never happens at Ancestry so take advantage of it while you can.
Please know that we have partnered with many genealogy organizations, including Ancestry, to bring you help, news and special offers and may earn money to support our work if you choose to take advantage of this deal.
The deal starts tonight, Nov 10th, at 9pm PT and ends at 9PM PT tomorrow, Sat Nov 11th. We have broken down the discounted prices for you below.
U.S. Discovery – includes access to all U.S. records. Normally $19.99 for one month or $99 for 6 months – this subscription is only $9.99 for a month right now or $49 for 6 months
World Explorer – access to all U.S. and international records. Normally $34.99 a month or $149 for 6 months – this subscription is only $17.49 for a month or $74 for 6 months right now.
All Access Membership – full access to Ancestry’s records, basic access to Newspapers.com and access to Fold3. Normally $44.99 per month or $199 for 6 months – this subscription is now only $22.49 for a month or $99 for 6 months. Honestly, that’s a pretty insane deal.
If you’ve been waiting for a great price to come along for Ancestry, this is it. They almost never do these types of huge discounts so take advantage of it if you can.
Remember, this includes upgrades to current subscriptions! When upgrading you will be given a new subscription and a refund for the remaining balance on your current subscription. Depending on when you subscribed and what price you paid this can be a very good deal. Ancestry explains how much you will be charged and the discount you will receive (at the bottom of the order) before you buy so go and see how much you can save here.
I was put on a “do not email list” and no one , including me, knew why. I was promised 4 months of free service….yet I only got 3 months of free service. No thank you; no “good-bye”; no special offers or encouragement to continue my service with them. Like someone said about, “I guess Ancestry.com does not need any more customers” (In reality they don’t –they can’t serve the ones they have!!!!!!)
Sounds like Ancestry doesn’t need any more subscribers
Ah, it appears it was only for new subscribers, not current subscribers. Darn.
logged on but still asking full price, I was on month to month due to end in a couple of days, cancelled that sub but now still asking for full price when I try to resubscribe.
This does work for current subscribers. Just make sure you are logged in first.
This is incorrect Barbara, many people have upgraded at the discounted rate. You should try to log in in to your account (this is important) and visit the link in the above article again. If this does not work, please call them back.
Hi Lorelle,
Please make sure you are logged in to your account before following the link in the above article. This should ensure that you see the upgrade price.
If you upgrade you will be refunded your current subscription price (what is left of it) and given the new rate. We did this successfully. Just make sure you are logged in to your account before clicking the above link.
The All Access membership includes all of Ancestry.com, basic access to Newspapers.com and Fold3. So you get everything in the first two levels and the extra access to the two additional sites.
I was baffled as well, but tried a different approach. The discount DOES NOT apply if you click on the banner up top after you have signed on. I logged out, logged back in and clicked on the upgrade option from the “pop-up” window and that is when it took me to the discounted upgrade page. Extremely lousy programming on their part.
1) Log out then log back in.
2) Click on the upgrade button from the pop-up window.
3) Discounted prices should now apply.
Good luck.
Does the Newspaper deal also include the other two levels or is it a separate package all to itself. There isn’t anything to explain this to new customers who aren’t familiar with all these deals. Thanks
That was wrong for them to say that…I was a curerent US member. In Ancestry, I just clicked the link to upgrade to World Membership, and it charged me the $74 and also refunded $33 on my credit card…so I just paid $41 for the next 6 months of a world membership
Once again Ancestry hits the long time user. First family tree maker is cancelled within days of purchasing an update and now new subscribers get half price!!!! My subscription cost me nearly $500.00 CD in September for a full access. How is this even remotely fair to present subscribers.
This is not fair as I know several people who posted at Facebook who said they were able to get the full access for $99. Why the double standards?
Like you, Lorelle, I am completely frustrated about this. What can be done to help a loyal customer for over a dozen years at ancestry.com ?
This is completely frustrating as many of my friends and family are able to get the new price; yet, those of us who have been paying almost $400 every year for a full subscription for about a dozen years don’t qualify for this. Several of my family members are Veterans and I still don’t qualify for a break in my annual fee? This is NOT fair.
I’ve been trying to take advantage of this and upgrade my all access plan and Ancestry tells me the annual plan is $389 and not the $200 I expected with the $99/six month deal. I can’t figure out how to even take advantage of the six month plan to add onto my account. Suggestions? Discount code?
Thanks.
I went directly to ancestry and followed the link on the front page. I got all access for 6 months for $99.
I called Ancestry and tried to apply the discount to an upgrade and they said I was not eligible as a current customer.
Not for current subscribers. Very disappointing.
I was not offered the discount rate, so I’m not so sure about the part about offering it for “upgrades on current subscriptions.” The text at the bottom of the offer page says:
*Offers end November 11, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Offers available for new subscribers only and not for renewal of current subscriptions. Discount applies to first 1-month term for monthly subscriptions and first 6-month term for 6-month subscriptions, respectively. Your subscription will automatically renew at list price after the introductory 1-month or 6-month offer. If you don’t want to renew, cancel at least two days before your renewal date. Cancel by visiting the My Account section or by contacting us. See our Terms and Conditions for further details.
